Engineering & Manufacturing Capability Catalogue

USE Engineering and Manufacturing

Marine and subsea engineering for the Nigerian oil & gas industry — FPSO & FSU support, mooring systems, jacket platforms, subsea field development, equipment design & manufacturing, hydraulics & valves, procurement and training.

Who we are

Nigerian engineering. World-class delivery.

USE Engineering and Manufacturing is a marine and subsea engineering company serving the Nigerian oil and gas market. We provide engineering support across the full life of offshore assets — from concept studies and FEED through detailed design, fabrication, installation support, operations and life extension.

Our focus areas are engineering support to FPSOs and FSUs, mooring systems, jacket platforms, subsea field development, equipment design and manufacturing, hydraulics and valve engineering, procurement support, and the training and provision of engineering services. We combine deep offshore domain knowledge with a practical, delivery-focused culture: we design what can be built, and we build what we design.

As a Nigerian company, we are committed to genuine local content development under the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) framework — building in-country engineering capability, developing Nigerian engineers, and manufacturing locally wherever practical.

Our Mission

To deliver safe, reliable and cost-effective engineering and manufacturing solutions that maximise the value of offshore oil and gas assets in Nigeria and the Gulf of Guinea.

Our Vision

Service line 01

FPSO & FSU engineering support

Floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) and floating storage units (FSU) are the backbone of deepwater production in Nigeria. We support owners and operators through the full asset life: design verification at conversion or newbuild, operational integrity, brownfield modifications and life extension beyond original design life.

Mooring systems

Mooring integrity is safety-critical and increasingly under regulatory scrutiny as Nigerian floating assets age. We design, analyse and manage mooring systems for FPSOs, FSUs, CALM buoys, MOPUs and marginal-field production units — including rapid-deployment, cost-effective mooring solutions that make marginal fields economic for independent operators.

Jacket platforms & fixed structures

Fixed jacket platforms remain the workhorses of Nigeria’s shallow-water shelf, and many are operating well beyond original design life. We provide the structural engineering needed to keep them safe and productive — and to design new minimal-facility platforms for marginal-field developments.

Subsea field development

From first concept screening to first oil, we provide subsea engineering that unlocks Nigerian deepwater and shelf tie-back opportunities. Our engineers develop complete field architectures and the SURF (subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines) engineering to deliver them safely and economically.

Equipment design & manufacturing

Engineering is only half the story — we also build. Our design-and-manufacture capability delivers standard and bespoke equipment for offshore projects, engineered to international codes and fabricated, assembled and tested in Nigeria to shorten lead times and grow local content.

Hydraulics & valve engineering

Hydraulic and valve systems sit at the heart of offshore safety and control. We provide complete support — from system design and equipment specification through procurement, testing, installation support and through-life maintenance.

Procurement support & engineering services

A trusted technical partner between Nigerian projects and the global supply chain — and a flexible source of engineering capability for client teams.

Fig. 10 — Technically assured procurement: valves, mooring chain, HPU packages and inspected, certified cargo.

Technical procurement support

Offshore equipment procurement fails when the technical detail is wrong. Our engineers manage the technical side of the supply chain so equipment arrives compliant, certified and on time.

Owner's engineering & technical placements

We provide integrated owner’s engineering for onshore and offshore projects — from a client office, site location, or remotely from our Nigerian offices. Where clients need capability rather than a work package, we place pre-qualified engineers directly into their teams.

Multi-discipline engineering consultancy

Across all service lines we offer core consultancy disciplines: naval architecture, structural, mechanical, piping, process, electrical & instrumentation, materials & corrosion, and installation engineering — delivered to recognised international codes and Nigerian regulatory requirements.

Delivery model: lump-sum work packages, reimbursable engineering support, framework agreements or embedded personnel — whichever best fits the project phase and client organisation.
Service line 08

Training & competence development

Sustainable local content means people, not just paperwork. Our training programmes are designed and delivered by practising engineers, blending classroom theory with real project casework so Nigerian engineers and technicians develop competence that sticks.

How we deliver

Project delivery, quality & HSE

Across the asset lifecycle

Quality

We operate a documented quality management system structured on ISO 9001:2015, applied to every engineering deliverable and every item that leaves our workshop. Design work is independently checked and approved; fabrication is inspected and tested against approved ITPs before release.

Health, safety & environment

Our goal is simple: nobody gets hurt. HSE management is embedded from design (inherently safer design reviews, dropped-object prevention, human factors) through workshop and offshore execution.

Codes & standards we work to

API (RP 2A, 2SK, 17 series, 6A/6D) • ISO 19900 series • DNV-ST/RP offshore standards • ABS & class society rules • ASME VIII / IX • AWS D1.1 • IEC / IECEx • NORSOK where specified — alongside NUPRC, NCDMB, NIMASA and other Nigerian regulatory requirements.

Our commitment

Local content & the markets we serve

Nigerian content, delivered in Nigeria

The NOGICD Act challenges our industry to build real capability in-country. We answer that challenge directly: Nigerian engineers doing the engineering, Nigerian workshops doing the fabrication, and structured training that converts projects into lasting national capability. Working with us helps operators and contractors meet Nigerian Content Plan commitments with substance, not paperwork.
